LYLP hires dynamic people who want to work with and mentor Lowell youth during our annual summer program. Our summer day program hosts approximately 150 campers across 4 weeks. LYLP staff training is before the campers arrive. Camp is held on the campus of Greater Lowell Tech High School. Staff Training Mon-Tue before camp starts.
Hired Staff should be available for training and the entire camp.
2025 Camp runs Wednesday, June 25th to Friday, July 18th.
2-day Staff training is Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th
Counselors, and Jr. Counselors must attend training and all 4 weeks of camp
Camp time is 7:30am to 1pm. Extra pay for Bus duty staff.
Instructional and Volunteer Staff can apply for specific assignments and dates.
Pay is commensurate with the position.

Qualifications

Specific Duties
● Lead and build a team within a group of 10 - 12 children ages 10-16.
● Assist in lessons and group activities created by instructors and staff
● Assist with activity set-up, clean-up, and equipment storage
● Supervise children during meals
● Assist in activites including sports, swimming and classroom activities
● Assure LYLP safety rules are followed

Specific duties
● Assist Counselor in all activities
● Assist with activity set-up, clean-up and storage of equipment

Specific Duties
● Teach one to three 50 minute lessons on any of the following topics:
● Engage students in a fun interactive lesson
● Create exit ticket for lesson asking campers what they learned
● Apply LYLP core principles to lesson plan

Qualifications
● Must be board certified RN in state of MA
● Must have 2 years of Nursing experience
● CPR and First Aid
● Knowledge of use of an AED
● Must be creative, energetic, and patient
● Have the ability to positively influence children and colleagues

● Exemplify positive leadership characteristics
● Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations
● Must commit to camp schedule 7am - 2pm (part-time Nurses considered)
Specific Duties
● Provide medical assessments and treatment to children and staff as needed
● Maintain accurate records of all incidents that happen during camp hours.
● Dispense daily medications to participants
● Apply first aid for minor injuries.
● Posess good communication skills with parents
● Accompany participants or staff to hospital as needed
● Collaborate with other medical personnel as needed

● Must be 16 years or older
● CPR, First Aid and ARC swim certified
● Must be creative, energetic, and patient

● Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations
● Must make a commitment to be available the entire camp - 7:30am - 12:30 pm daily
Specific Duties
● Responsible for developing a one to 10 50 minute session(s) geared towards age
groups 10-11, 12-13, 14-16
● Oversee the activities in the pool area
● Teach swimming techniques, swim strokes, and water safety rules to participants with
varying swimming abilities
● Track progress through assessment
● Enforce the rules, regulations,and policies to ensure the safety of the participants.
● Monitor pool area to recognize signs of danger.
● Warn swimmers of unsafe situations.
● Maintain order in the pool area.
● Respond to emergencies and rescue swimmers in danger
● Any other duties determined by the LYLP Program Director

Role Overview
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for leading and managing the social media strategy for the
Lowell Youth Leadership Program. This includes creating and executing campaigns, engaging with users,
and growing the camp’s presence on social media. The Social Media Specialist will also be responsible for
creating content, responding to comments and messages, and measuring the success of campaigns.
Qualifications
• Excellent knowledge of all major social networking platforms
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team spirit and strong interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with youth.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Specific duties
• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase camp awareness and reach
• Create and manage social media accounts on the top platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok
YouTube, etc.)
• Monitor and respond to all comments, messages, and posts on social media accounts
• Post relevant content on a regular basis, including photos, videos, and articles
• Analyze data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement
• Engage with customers and followers to create relationships
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure all social media messages are consistent with the camp’s
brand
• Stay up to date with current trends and changes in the world of social media
Hours
• Starting May 1st.
• 2 - 3 hours a week
• During camp (June 28th - July 21st) Be available to live stream, photograph, and video on a regular basis

Overview
We are looking for people wanting to give back to the Lowell community by sharing their time, special skills and positive energy with the youth of Lowell. Volunteers may help during any specific activity or time period.
Specific needs
● Serve Breakfast and/or lunch
● Ride bus morning and/or afternoon
● Work the locker rooms/pool
● Clean up tent, after breakfast and lunch
● Help in classroom management
● Accompany campers to bathroom, nurse etc
